The new ship “Mein Shiff Relax”, belonging to the new inTUItion class of the TUI Cruises company, will be christened in the Port of Malaga next spring.
The celebration will take place on April 9th at the Levante Dock, where, for the first time, three ships from the shipping company will bein port, two of them making their maiden call. In addition to the aforementioned ship, the 'Mein Schiff 5' and 'Mein Schiff 7' will also dock, and their passengers will have a front-row view of the christening ceremony.
To this end, the company has prepared a special event sponsored by the renowned international singer Robbie Williams, who will offer an open-air concert in the area adjacent to the Cruise Terminals for passengers on board the docked ships and shipping company staff.
Furthermore, in gratitude for the warm welcome from the port and the destination, TUI Cruises has reserved some 2,000 tickets that will be made available to the citizens of Malaga so that they too can enjoy this exclusive show, which will be historic for the city and also for the company.
Tickets will go on sale shortly and the link to the purchase platform will be shared on the official profiles of the Port of Malaga and the City Council of the capital.
About 'Mein Schiff Relax'
The company's new ship, which began construction in 2022, will be the shipping company's largest cruise ship, at 330 meters long, and the first in the fleet powered by LNG.
Passengers on the Mein Schiff Relax can enjoy 14 restaurants, 17 bars and lounges, a 25-meter swimming pool and, especially, a design focused on relaxation, which is why it is called "the ship of well-being".
The Port of Malaga has been chosen in recent years to host these types of events. From 2019 to 2025, Malaga will have hosted a total of 5 baptisms:
- April 2025: Mein Schiff Relax, TUI Cruises.
- June 2023: Scenic Eclipse II, Scenic.
- May 2023: Marella Voyager, from Marella Cruises.
- May 2017: TUI Discovery 2, Thomson Cruises (now Marella Cruises).
- March 2019: Marella Explorer 2, Marella Cruises
