TUI Cruises celebrated the laying of the keel of the Mein Schiff Flow at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, and Cristiano Bazzara, director of the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, along with the team, led the ceremony for this phase of construction of the second ship in the InTUItion class.
“The laying of the keel of our ships is always a particularly emotional experience. The Mein Schiff Flow, the sister ship of the Mein Schiff Relax, is taking shape more and more each day. What is also special for us is that guest feedback has once again been incorporated into the development of the new class of ship, and, for example, the Atlantic restaurant returns to its very special place with the best location at the stern,” commented Meier.
With this second gas-powered ship, TUI Cruises will have three new cruise ships in service by 2026, bringing the total to three new vessels within three years. In the future, both ships will also be able to operate on low-emission, environmentally friendly biogas and e-LNG.
