Resorts World Cruises is pleased to celebrate the maiden arrival of the Genting Dream to Melaka today. The 4,500-passenger cruise ship departs weekly on Sundays from Singapore, offering the new 2-night Melaka cruise.
The city of Melaka welcomed the ship with great enthusiasm upon its maiden arrival. Passengers disembarking were greeted with a traditional performance, and Melaka's Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, welcomed the visitors to the city. To mark the occasion, Resorts World Cruises President Michael Goh and the Chief Minister exchanged souvenirs at the ICQS.
On this first stop in Melaka, the Melaka Tourism Bureau and various attraction operators, including the Melaka River Cruise, Taming Sari Tower, the History and Ethnography Museum, and Encore Melaka, collaborated with Resorts World Cruises to showcase these attractions through special shore excursion packages for disembarking passengers.

Upon arrival at ICQS Melaka, passengers can enjoy a variety of attractions within easy walking distance. Just 15 minutes away lies the heart of Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring the red colonial buildings of Dutch Square and the famous Jonker Street, known for its excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment. Passengers can also choose to take the Melaka River boats, located next to the ICQS Complex, to explore the historic city, adorned with buildings reflecting Portuguese, Dutch, and English influences, murals, parks, and colorful shops lining both sides of the river.
In addition, guests can visit the Museum of History and Ethnography located in the Stadthuys building, built during the period of Dutch administration in 1650. The historical section of the museum showcases the history of Melaka from the 14th century, while the ethnography section presents the lifestyle and culture of various local communities and traditional collections.
Another option is to enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city from the Taming Sari Tower. Guests also won't want to miss the Encore Melaka Theatre, a state-of-the-art venue with a 360-degree rotating auditorium and a 240-meter-long stage. It offers an immersive and innovative artistic production that is sure to entertain and leave a lasting impression.
