AIDA Cruises will launch the largest fleet modernization program in the company's history. The AIDAdiva will be the first ship to go to the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille.
In February 2025, AIDA Cruises will launch the largest fleet modernization program in the company's history as part of its future initiative, AIDA Evolution.
AIDAdiva will be the first ship to go to the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France. During the seven-week dry dock overhaul, from February 3 to March 22, 2025, the focus will be on improving the ship's technology and offering even more in-depth experience, service, and comfort.
On board the modernized AIDAdiva, guests can expect a wider variety of restaurants and bars with even more attentive service. A total of eight restaurants and 15 bars and cafes serve national and international cuisines and drinks. In addition to familiar favorites, the modernization will add some new ones.
The new Yacht Club restaurant offers dining in a nautical setting. The outdoor area not only invites al fresco dining but also houses the new Lanai Bar, with a varied menu ranging from AIDA Spritz to sundowners.
With the modernization, the French Kiss Restaurant on deck 11 will make its debut on the AIDAdiva, from steak tartare to select cheeses and masterpieces of French pastry.
The culinary lane on Deck 11 now includes an Asian restaurant. Under the cherry blossoms, hot and cold sushi and dim sum are served. In addition to lunch and dinner, a light Asian breakfast is also available for explorers and lovers of Asian cuisine, featuring specialties such as Japanese okonomiyaki. The new Tokyo Bar, with signature Asian cocktails, will open soon.
Surrounding the distinctive Theatrium, the French Kiss Bar & Bistro will serve French specialties and snacks on Deck 10. On Deck 11, an Ice Bar will offer delicious cold creations and waffles.
The new Tapas & Bar at Theatrium, on deck 9, serves hot and cold tapas, wines, sherries and Spanish beers.
The new Panorama Lounge & Bar on deck 10, at the bow of the AIDAdiva, promises an exclusive view of the captain with signature drinks and classics for all guests.
The redesigned Ocean Club, on deck 12, is a new place for teenagers during the day and for night owls to enjoy music and dancing until the early hours of the morning.
Classics such as the Market Restaurant, Buffalo Steak House, Gourmet Restaurant Rossini and Almhütte will continue to exist and will also be gently modernized during the dry dock period.
Summer Program 2025: Italy and Malta and the Baltic Sea and Norway
Following its dry-dock overhaul, the AIDAdiva will depart from Rome/Civitavecchia on three itineraries to Italy and Malta starting March 23, 2025. Destinations include Valletta, Syracuse or Catania, Palermo, Naples, and Olbia. AIDAdiva will then head to its summer cruising area: from Rostock/Warnemünde, it will offer the most beautiful destinations in the Baltic Sea and Norway.
Around the world 2025/2026
From November 10, 2025, to March 23, 2026, the AIDAdiva cruise ship will embark on its first-ever round-the-world voyage. At 133 days, this XXL adventure will be the longest circumnavigation in the company's history. Departing from Hamburg, the route will take the ship to all five continents and through 27 countries. For the first time on an AIDA world cruise, the east and west coasts of the USA and Japan will be included in the itinerary. Another highlight: New Year's Eve will be celebrated in Hawaii. A record 55 ports of call will be visited.
New standards in ship design
The Sphinx-class ships entered service between 2007 and 2013. With their innovative open-space concept and design, they have been instrumental in creating AIDA's unique experience. Following AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAbella will be modernized in autumn 2025 and spring 2026, respectively.
