This winter, Explora Journeys presents a unique opportunity to escape to the Caribbean with its Explora I and Explora II ships, offering a variety of itineraries.
Starting in November, travelers will be able to explore some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, combining relaxation, history and adventure in each destination.
At the end of the year, Explora Journeys will take its two ships to the Caribbean to offer the most idyllic itineraries in the middle of winter.
EXPLORE II
As for Explora II, for example, from November 15 to 22, travelers will be able to enjoy an itinerary aboard the second ship in the fleet, departing from Bridgetown, Barbados, and disembarking in Miami: “A trip of islands bathed in rum and relaxed happiness.”
Explora II will offer passengers a luxury journey through the Caribbean, combining history, culture and adventure in each of the destinations.
The journey begins in Bridgetown, Barbados, where travelers can enjoy the island's relaxed atmosphere, surf and snorkel, explore the famous Harrison's Cave and visit the historic Abbey of St. Nicholas, the pink sand beaches and enjoy local rum cocktails that will complete the experience.
The next stop will be Castries, St. Lucia. Visitors can hike the Pitons mountains, bathe in volcanic mud, enjoy black sand beaches, and explore the rainforest. Sailing and whale watching are highlights of the island's activities, as is the local cuisine.
St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, offers adventures such as swimming with stingrays, zip-lining through the jungle, strolling through the historic district, and exploring the British forts perched atop Shirley Heights and Goat Hill.
San Juan, Puerto Rico, is the next destination aboard Explora II. It blends Caribbean history and Spanish culture with an American flair. Travelers can explore ancient fortresses and admire colorful colonial buildings, enjoy local music ranging from salsa to reggae, sample Puerto Rican cuisine, and end their day relaxing on the island's beautiful beaches.
Two days of sailing will allow passengers to relax on board before reaching their final destination, Miami, where they can explore South Beach, the graffiti of Wynwood Walls and the Latin neighborhood of Little Havana.
Activities such as salsa classes, designer shopping and motorboat rides, along with a visit to Everglades National Park, will complete the experience, reaching the end of the itinerary on November 22.
Explora II will be sailing the Caribbean on various itineraries during the winter season. Some of the highlights include:
- “A journey to ports filled with yachts and unique landscapes” (November 29 – December 6). Includes new destinations such as Gustavia, Bassterre, and Virgin Gorda.
- “A journey to the islands of butterflies and the elegance of the French Caribbean” (December 20 – December 27). Miami, Road Bay, Pointe-À-Pitre, Marigot and Puerto Rico.
EXPLORE I
As for Explora I, it will also be offering specific itineraries through the Caribbean during the winter, starting in early December. One of the highlights is "A Journey from the Spice Island to the ABC Islands."
On December 30, just before the new year, travelers will enjoy the island's relaxed Caribbean atmosphere during the Christmas season.
The next destination is Saint George's in Grenada, known for its horseshoe-shaped harbor and pastel-colored houses. Visitors can stroll through markets, visit the House of Chocolate, hike through the rainforest and to waterfalls, all while sampling local spices.
The journey then continues to Kralendijk, the capital of Bonaire, famous for its underwater world and cobalt-blue waters. Activities include snorkeling, kayaking through mangroves, and flamingo watching on Lake Goto.
In Willemstad, Curaçao, passengers can stroll through colonial neighborhoods, enjoy beaches and reefs, and explore Creole cuisine and local art. Modern lounges offer the perfect end to the day with a warm welcome from the locals.
The next stop is Oranjestad, Aruba. It will offer a vibrant, colorful landscape, as well as the opportunity to board a submarine to explore the ocean depths, white sand beaches, and the iconic natural coral bridge.
After two days of sailing, the journey will culminate in Miami.
Among the other itineraries that Explora I will offer during the upcoming winter season, the following also stand out:
- “A journey of reggae, reefs and magical Mayan ruins” (December 16 – December 23). Destinations include Miami, Ocho Rios, Cozumel and Mérida (Progreso).
- “A journey tracing the arc of the Lesser Antilles” (December 23 – December 30). Miami, Road Bay, San Juan, Roseau, Castries and Bridgetown.
