Explora Journeys presents its revamped art gallery and artistic experiences aboard EXPLORA I, including a collection of limited-edition prints, screen prints, and lithographs by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, as well as an original acrylic and screen print on canvas by Andy Warhol. This new exhibit perfectly complements the permanent collection of fine art and sculptures, offering an inspiring and immersive journey for guests on board.
Curated art: A serene state of mind
Each piece in the permanent art collection aboard EXPLORA I has been meticulously chosen by the Aponte family to embody the serenity of “Ocean State of Mind,” providing guests with an immersive artistic experience.
Guests can find limited-edition, commissioned prints in suites and hallways, while the restaurants are adorned with three-dimensional abstract wallpaper reliefs and commissioned paintings. Sculptural masterpieces by Yves Dana in the lobby serve as a focal point, seamlessly integrating with the ship's unique design. For the public areas on deck five, Explora Journeys has acquired the extraordinary and important collections from the British Library of Yinka Shonibare, a British-Nigerian artist whose work is exhibited worldwide

Iconic Pop Art in the Art Gallery onboard EXPLORA I
The Galleria d'Arte now presents a private collection of limited-edition prints by two legendary masters of Pop Art: Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to view some of the most iconic and influential works by these world-renowned artists. Furthermore, art experts and hosts will be available to guide guests through these legendary works, enhancing the onboard art experience
The installation debuted on June 19, 2024 in Barcelona (Spain) and will remain on board until spring 2025.
Highlights of the Pop Art exhibition
Works by Roy Lichtenstein stand out, such as Brushstroke, 1965; I Love Liberty, 1982; Bull Series, 1989 – 6 prints; Blue Ground, 1991; and A Triptych While Opening Fire, 1966.
Andy Warhol's works include Campbell's Soup I (1968) – 8 Prints: Black Bean, Tomato, Onion with Beef Broth, Beef with Vegetables and Barley, Green Pea, Pot Pepper, Consommé (beef) with added gelatin and Cream of Mushroom; Campbell's Soup II 1969 – 3 Prints: Old Fashioned Vegetable with Beef Broth, Tomato Beef Noodle O's and Cheddar Cheese; Superman, 1981; Apple, 1985; Moonwalk, 1987; and Campbell's Soup Box: Chicken and Rice 1986.
