Explora Journeys presents Destination Experiences led by renowned explorer and brand ambassador, Mike Horn.
From November 10 to 20, 2024, guests aboard EXPLORA I will have the unique opportunity to join Mike Horn on two adventures, showcasing the wild beauty of the Spanish islands of Lanzarote and La Palma.
Throughout a lifetime of adventure, Mike Horn has traveled to the most remote regions of the planet. Aboard the EXPLORA I, the explorer will share tales of his adventures during onboard talks and impart his knowledge of mental and physical preparation in training sessions.
Guests taking the trip from November 10th to 20th, 2024, departing from Barcelona and visiting Cadiz, the Canary Islands and Gibraltar before returning to Barcelona, will have the opportunity to participate in two Destination Experiences:
- Hiking in the Haría Extreme Wild Trail of Lanzarote
Passengers will embark on a hike along the Haría Extreme ultramarathon trail, guided by Mike Horn. Starting from Famara, participants will ascend the cliff face.
The journey continues along the Camino de Los Gracioseros before arriving in the village of Haría. Here, guests will enjoy lunch at the Tacande restaurant, followed by an exploration of Haría's whitewashed streets and palm groves.
- Explore the wild beauty and pirate past of La Palma by land and sea
On this experience, guests will delve into the beauty and history of La Palma. Starting in Tijarafe, Mike Horn will guide participants through the island's subtropical environment along a coastal path to Porís de Candelaria, a hamlet nestled at the base of a cliff.
From there, EXPLORA I passengers will sail with Mike to Cueva Bonita, a sea cave once used by fishermen to evade pirates. Known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Atlantic,” the cave walls are bathed in the light of the setting sun, creating a spectacular sight.
These exclusive experiences offer passengers an opportunity to explore some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes of the Canary Islands alongside one of the most acclaimed explorers.
