Windstar Cruises will expand its fleet with the addition of two all-suite motor yachts, Star Seeker and Star Explorer.
The first of the two ships, the newly built Star Seeker currently under construction at the WestSEA shipyard, is expected to be delivered in December 2025, followed by the Star Explorer in December 2026.
“Our goal was to ensure that these ships were unmistakably Windstar, and a great effort has been made to achieve that,” says Windstar Cruises President Christopher Prelog.
“We are thrilled with this expansion, which builds on the success of our groundbreaking Star Class in smaller cruises with guests and travel partners, while offering new experiences. This growth reflects the dedication of our incredible crew and team, allowing us to expand our portfolio of destinations and even bring one of our Wind Class sailing ships back to Tahiti.”
Each ship features 112 suites, each with a private terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows, ensuring stunning views for all passengers. In addition, two new Owner's Suites with wraparound balconies have been added at the stern, perfect for evening cocktails or private dinners.
With a capacity for 224 guests and a staff-to-guest ratio of 1:2, the ships maintain an intimate atmosphere, guaranteeing personalized service at all times.
Passengers will also enjoy access to several of Windstar's new favorite spots, including the brand's iconic Watersports Platform accessed by a new staircase, the inviting Yacht Club café and lounge, a two-story spa and gym, a forward hot tub, and an open deck perfect for sunbathing and enjoying Windstar's famous barbecues.
As the official cruise line of the James Beard Foundation (JBF), Windstar's commitment to exceptional cuisine will continue to be a priority for the guest experience.
The newly renovated main dining room, Amphora, will serve a variety of signature dishes, including rotating menus from guest chefs affiliated with the James Beard Foundation. Both Amphora and Star Grill will offer al fresco dining.
A complimentary specialty restaurant and 24-hour room service complete the four dining options. Star Seeker and Star Explorer have ice-strengthened hulls, allowing them to access new destinations.
The vessels are equipped with the latest technology in safety, propulsion, and navigation, including pump-jet thrusters and bow sonar. To minimize their environmental footprint and uphold the brand's commitment to sustainability, the vessels feature Rolls Royce Tier III NOx engines and can connect to the electrical grid, minimizing port emissions.
In addition, the ships have advanced wastewater treatment systems that meet all global standards.

The expansion also allows Windstar to bring one of its Wind Class ships, the Wind Star, back to Tahiti, where it will join the Star Breeze in 2027, adding more capacity to meet the growing demand for cruises to French Polynesia.
With over 36 years of experience operating cruises in French Polynesia and a long-time guest favorite, travelers will now have the option of sailing between the islands on a Wind Class or Star Class ship.
