MSC Cruises has unveiled “Cliffhanger”, the only swing attraction over the sea, which will debut exclusively on board the MSC World America when the ship enters service in April 2025.
The swing will rise above the top deck of MSC Cruises' new flagship for the US market, located in the heart of the ship's Family Adventure district and attracting those who want a dose of excitement.
Cliffhanger has four seats that start near the deck before motorized arms lift them to the starting position over the edge of the ship. From there, passengers are propelled from side to side, well above the waterline, hanging 50 meters above the sea.
MSC World America is set to become MSC Cruises' new flagship in the United States when it is launched at PortMiami on April 9, 2025. Passengers will experience a new world of cruising as they explore seven distinct districts, each with its own unique atmosphere, facilities, and experiences.
During the ship's inaugural season, MSC World America will sail from Miami on 7-night itineraries to select destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, all with a stop at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private island in The Bahamas.
MSC World America is designed to reduce its environmental impact. The ship runs on LNG, a lower-emission fuel, and is prepared for renewable energy sources.
Connectivity to shore power, where available, reduces emissions by allowing the ship's engines to be switched off in port.
Smart technology is used throughout the ship to ensure passengers can travel in comfort while keeping energy and water usage low. An onboard recycling program minimizes waste, and even the propellers are designed to reduce noise and avoid disturbing marine life.
