Hurtigruten is extending its "Northern Lights Promise" for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The company has brought forward the start of its dedicated Northern Lights viewing trips, now scheduled to begin in mid-September instead of October.
This policy seeks to ensure that passengers have a second chance to witness the natural spectacle of the Northern Lights if they do not see them during a trip of 11 days or more on board their vessels.
Hedda Felin, CEO of Hurtigruten, expressed her enthusiasm for this initiative, stating: “At Hurtigruten, we firmly believe that Norway is the best place to experience the Northern Lights and that our coastal cruises offer the best way to explore Norway.
“We are delighted to extend our Northern Lights Promise sailing period, allowing more guests to immerse themselves in the magic of the Northern Lights“.
In addition to extending the viewing period, the company will continue to offer select astronomer-led trips during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
These special voyages will provide a unique opportunity to sail with renowned astronomers and enjoy specialized lectures and sightings of the Northern Lights on board, further enriching the experience for passengers.
