CroisiEurope presents its new cruise along Belgium's lesser-known waterways, visiting beautiful cities with a rich cultural heritage, as well as a wide range of architectural and culinary discoveries. This is the first itinerary for CroisiEurope's MS Raymonde outside of France.
The six-night itinerary, which will begin in April 2025, operates between Ghent and Halle and visits Bruges, Oudenaarde, Péronnes-Lez-Antoing, Mons, Strépy-Thieu, and Brussels. Highlights of this itinerary include the Strépy-Thieu elevator, the second tallest in the world, with an impressive 73.15-meter incline; and the Ronquières Inclined Plane, which transports barges and other inland waterway vessels up a 1,432-meter ramp with a 68-meter elevation gain.
Other details of the itinerary are:
- Guided tours to Bruges, Oudenaarde and Brussels.
- Visit to a brewery in Bruges with tasting.
- Visit an Oudenaarde distillery to discover the traditional distillation process of gin, jenever and whisky, followed by a tasting.
- Gastronomic tour of Mons with tasting of local specialties.
- A visit to Beloiel Castle, known as the Belgian Versailles, to discover its vast art collection, its library, and its impressive gardens.
- Guided tour of the award-winning Chant d'Éole vineyard, which only produces sparkling wines made using the traditional method, including a tasting of Blanc de Blancs, Brut Rosé and Elixir Saint Georges.
- Demonstration of artisanal Belgian chocolate making, followed by tasting.
The cruise takes place on the MS Raymonde, a ship with only 11 outside cabins with ensuite bathrooms, a restaurant, a bar, a sun deck, and a relaxation area with a jacuzzi. It has a crew of six, including an experienced chef who serves a wide variety of delicious dishes. Passengers are guaranteed truly personalized service.
The cruise will operate between April and October 2025 on this itinerary, with all meals and drinks on board, excursions, bicycles on board and port taxes.
