The Caribbean Princess celebrates a historic anniversary in 2024. After its debut in April 2004, the cruise ship will mark 20 years of service next month.

This Grand Class series ship from Princess Cruises, with a capacity for 3,100 passengers, was built at the Fincantieri shipyards in Marghera (Italy).
With a modified layout, the Caribbean Princess is slightly larger than its predecessors and features an additional cabin deck.
Unlike its sister ships, the vessel was custom-built to sail the Caribbean and other tropical destinations.
As such, it originally features a number of enhancements, including more open deck space, an additional outdoor pool deck, and a new outdoor restaurant.
In its inaugural season, the Caribbean Princess began an annual program around the Caribbean, offering week-long cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale.
Before embarking on its inaugural cruise, the ship was christened by “Love Boat” actress Jill Whelan, in a ceremony that took place in Port Everglades on April 2, 2004.
During its 20 years of sailing, the ship sailed mainly in the Caribbean, although it also offered programs in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and Canada and New England.
Between 2024 and 2026, the Caribbean Princess is scheduled to offer summer programs in the British Isles and Alaska, in addition to winter seasons in the Caribbean.
In addition to the Caribbean Princess, Princess Cruises' Grand Class also includes the Grand Princess, built in 1998, the Golden Princess, built in 2001, and the Star Princess, built in 2002.
The latter two were transferred to P&O Cruises Australia in 2021 and currently sail as Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter.
Between 2006 and 2010, five more ships with a similar design were built: the Ruby Princess, the Emerald Princess, the Crown Princess, the Ventura, and the Azura. The latter two sail for P&O Cruises in the UK.
