Silver Shadow set sail from San Francisco on January 15, beginning the Far East-West 2024 Round the World Cruise.
The travelers will journey from east to west, from one end of the planet to the other, on a 132-day round-trip itinerary that will cover most of the Pacific Rim, from Hawaii and the remote Pacific Islands to Australia and New Zealand, passing through Southeast Asia, China, Japan, and returning across the Pacific to Alaska, Canada, and California.
In total, guests will visit 65 destinations in 14 countries, including 33 destinations new to a Silversea World Cruise. Additionally, 20 overnight stops will allow for a deeper cultural immersion. The global voyage is scheduled to conclude in San Francisco on May 26, 2024.
Silversea's VIP Meet & Greet service welcomed guests upon arrival from their business class flights in San Francisco, after which they were transferred by private shuttle to their accommodation at the Fairmont Hotel.
On January 14, Silversea hosted its Bon Voyage World Cruise event at San Francisco City Hall rotunda, where friends, old and new, gathered for dinner featuring a fusion of Eastern and Western cuisine.
Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea, was present to wish guests a pleasant journey. Guests enjoyed a dance performance, choreographed by an award-winning choreographer.

The Hindu temple of Prambanan and the Buddhist temple of Borobudur in Java, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, are the highlights of this experience.
