The Port of Cartagena kicks off on December 3 with the first cruise of the month of December, with the first stop of the ship Iona, from the P&O shipping company, and will continue until December 25 with the entry into the dock of the cruise ship Renaissance, from the Compagnie Francais de Croisières.
With a capacity for 2,500 passengers, the Iona is the third largest cruise ship in the world. Measuring 344 meters in length and 54 meters in beam, the vessel, owned by the British company P&O, displaces 184,000 tons and is powered by liquefied natural gas. Arriving from Barcelona, it will depart at 9:00 PM for Cádiz.
The next visit will be on December 8th, the Viking Neptune, with a capacity for 930 passengers who will arrive from Valencia early in the morning to contribute to its route towards Malaga.
On December 11, Ventura, operated by P&O, will arrive in Málaga with a capacity for 3,600 tourists from Lisbon. This cruise line will also bring the Aurora on December 14, with a total capacity of 2,258 passengers, also arriving from Lisbon, and departing in the afternoon for Málaga.
The Port will also receive the arrival on December 20 of the cruise ship Amadea, from Phoenix Reisen, coming from Malaga and bound for Savona with 600 tourists.
The final stop will be the Renaissance, from the Compagnie Francais de Croisières, which will dock at the Port of Cartagena on Christmas Day, December 25, with a capacity for more than 1,000 people, on its second visit to the city.
The year-end forecasts are for 150 stopovers and more than 180,000 passengers in 2023.
