Windstar Cruises has been forced to cancel its inaugural season in the Middle East, which was scheduled to begin next month. The conflict and evolving circumstances have led to this decision.
The company had planned for the Star Legend to be based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) for a series of voyages starting on November 23 and lasting until April 2024. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, Windstar has opted to postpone the season.
One of the immediate effects of this decision is the rescheduling of Sparkling Sands from Dubai to Muscat, Oman, which will now take place in 2024 (November 24). Despite this change, the inaugural voyage will still include the planned special events and will be attended by company executives.
Christopher Prelog, president of Windstar, stated: “Given the current environment and the uncertainty surrounding events in the region, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the inaugural season until the fall of 2024.”
