The addition of this port to the GPH network marks a significant step in GPH's planned expansion in the Northern European cruise market. The port's location makes it ideally situated for Scandinavian and Baltic Sea itineraries. The Bremerhaven Cruise Port's cruise facilities are currently undergoing a multi-million euro investment by local authorities, which, once completed, will expand and renovate the port facilities.

In 2022, the Bremerhaven cruise port welcomed more than 230,000 passengers, of which more than 90% were homeport passengers.

The award is the result of a transparent and open tendering process carried out by bremenports in accordance with EU tendering rules.

GPH has extensive experience operating cruise ports according to global best practices and possesses unparalleled knowledge and understanding of the equipment and infrastructure requirements needed to transform cruise ports and meet the needs of the modern cruise industry. GPH focuses on creating the best operating model tailored to each port, delivering global best practices to every cruise port it operates.

Mehmet Kutman, Chairman and CEO of Global Ports Holding, said:
“I am delighted that bremenports has awarded GPH the concession for the Bremerhaven cruise port. This concession represents another important step in our ambitions to grow our global network of cruise ports and expand our operations in Northern Europe.”
