Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ( NCLH) promoted Captain Bjørn Ove Hansen to SVP of maritime operations, replacing Captain Luigi Razeto, who is retiring.
Formerly Vice President of Marine and Port Operations, Hansen has 31 years of experience with NCLH in both shore and onboard leadership roles. The company states that he has been instrumental in leading marine and port operations teams through the development and implementation of fleet navigation policies and procedures, strategic ports of call, vessel deployments and changes, and the exploration of new routes.
Hansen joined Norwegian Cruise Line in 2002 sailing as a staff captain, before going ashore.
Captain Luigi Razeto oversaw nautical and port operations for the past eight years, following almost seven years earlier at Prestige Cruise Holdings (Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises), where he was vice president of nautical operations and compliance prior to NCL's acquisition of PCH.
“We would like to thank Captain Luigi Razeto for his remarkable contributions to NCLH over the past 15 years and wish him all the best in his retirement,” the company said.
