Norwegian Cruise Line 's Norwegian Joy will undergo major renovations in January 2024 to offer guests a more complete onboard experience, including a new Thermal Suite in the Mandara Spa and Salon, an expanded Vibe Beach Club, 64 new staterooms, a redesign of The Haven Premier Owner Suites, and much more.
When the Norwegian Joy completes its three-week dry-dock period from January 22, 2024, to February 12, 2024, guests will have access to an enhanced onboard spa experience with a new Thermal Suite, soon to be the largest on Breakaway-Plus class cruise ships. Designed with NCL guest feedback in mind, the first-ever Thermal Suite will feature a more centralized layout and an unparalleled welcome experience, complete with elegant sculptures and an entry corridor surrounded by waterfalls. A separate living area will boast three times as many thermal loungers, and guests will enjoy easy access to relaxing and revitalizing experiences, including a sauna, ice room, and aromatic steam room. Other innovative offerings include a new bio-station with IV drip therapy, an increasingly popular rejuvenating treatment that delivers essential nutrients to the body; and four-sense loungers for the ultimate sensory experience for deep relaxation. and the Kneipp haptic foot therapy, which massages the feet as guests walk through a footbath that alternates between hot and cold zones. The new Thermal Suite will replace the Galaxy Pavilion, the cruise ship's virtual reality complex.

As part of the company's commitment to providing guests with a wider variety of accommodation options, the redesign will include repurposing a portion of the Observation Lounge to create 24 new balcony staterooms, as well as 40 new spa balcony staterooms, which will include direct access to the Mandara Spa and Thermal Suite. Additionally, due to unprecedented demand, the large balcony The Haven by Norwegian™ Premier Owner's Suites on Norwegian Joy will be expanded to three bedrooms. The two suites will feature three bedrooms; three full bathrooms and a powder room; completely refurbished living rooms, master bedrooms, and exterior balcony furnishings; as well as a new separate dining area overlooking The Haven Horizon Lounge, located forward. The Haven by Norwegian™ is the company's exclusive ship-within-a-ship resort, accessible only by smartcard, offering the most spacious suites and exclusive experiences, including concierge service, a private pool area, a restaurant, and a bar.
In addition, the adults-only Vibe Beach Club will be expanded, taking over the current Laser Tag Arena on deck 20.
The Norwegian Joy will resume sailing after its dry-dock period on February 13, 2024, embarking on an 11-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, UK, to Miami. In March 2024, the ship will make seven-day round-trip Caribbean cruises from Miami before sailing to Bermuda from New York in the summer of 2024.
