“The Texas star on the bow of Carnival Jubilee is a symbol of our commitment to the Port of Galveston. As the first cruise line to sail year-round from Galveston, we have a long history with the community, and our next new ship is our latest investment in supporting the impressive growth of the local economy while providing innovative experiences for our guests,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “I look forward to Carnival Jubilee showcasing her Texas pride starting later this year.”.

Hundreds of spectators gathered at the shipyard for their first glimpse of Carnival's newest ship, and also got a taste of Texas. A fun tailgate party, complete with appetizers and drinks from Carnival partner PepsiCo, accompanied the ship's departure.

Now, the Carnival Jubilee enters its next phase of construction alongside the shipyard's outfitting dock. Over the weekend, the Carnival Jubilee will briefly cast off from the dock to conduct various tests on its bow thrusters and stabilizers. Sea trials are scheduled for November.

Carnival's newest ship is part of its innovative Excel class and will offer amazing features that have already captivated guests aboard its sister ships, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, including the new version of the first roller coaster at sea, BOLT: The Ultimate Seacoaster. Six fun-filled zones, two of which are exclusive to the ship and imaginatively themed to celebrate the ocean, offer extensive dining, beverage, and entertainment options.

Like its sister ships, the ship shares its name with a classic Carnival vessel, and the first Carnival Jubilee sailed from Galveston in 2002. The new Carnival Jubilee is four times larger than its predecessor and will offer four times the fun for Carnival guests.
