Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has partnered with the global charity Project Seagrass on an awareness project about ocean seagrass habitats.
Scientists from the organization will participate in an August cruise aboard the Bolette around the islands of Scotland and the Faroe Islands, where experts will spend time both on deck and ashore to help passengers learn more about the importance of seagrass meadows and the crucial role they play for wildlife, communities and climate stability.

The work with Project Seagrass is linked to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Signature Cruise line, Itinerary Insights, which celebrates how guest speakers are chosen to offer like-minded travelers a deeper understanding of a particular topic.
Seagrass Project associate scientist Anouska Mendzil will spend time both on deck and ashore participating in a variety of activities. These include a public session, daily forums in the Earth Room, screenings of two conservation films, and an experience in Kirkwall. In addition, the team will conduct deck-based observations of conservation-related areas, hold one-on-one meetings with guests, and use research materials and documents to facilitate discussion groups similar to book clubs.
Founded in 2013, Project Seagrass is the only global environmental charity dedicated exclusively to the conservation of seagrass ecosystems to ensure their protection now and for future generations.
