Costa Cruises has appointed Luigi Stefanelli as Associate Vice President for the Southern Europe Region, making him responsible for the markets of Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal. In his new role, Stefanelli will be tasked with ensuring the region's sustainable development and profitability.
Stefanelli has acquired significant international professional experience at Costa Cruises, having worked in Asia and Europe, where he achieved important results.
“I believe this appointment will give a major boost to the commercial development of the Southern European Region,” said Roberto Alberti, SVP & Chief Commercial Officer of Costa Cruises. “These markets play a fundamental role for us, and thanks to Luigi’s extensive international experience gained in recent years, we are confident that we will be even more effective in executing our commercial strategy.”
In his new role, Stefanelli will expand his responsibilities to include Italy, while retaining his previous positions as Managing Director of Spain and Portugal and Managing Director of France. Carlo Schiavon will step down as Country Manager for Italy to pursue a new personal project, but will continue to collaborate with the company.
Stefanelli will have a team of professionals with extensive experience in the sector. Specifically, the sales areas for Italy will be managed by Riccardo Fantoni, Sales Director for Italy, who has held increasingly important roles within the sales team. For the French market, Stefanelli will have the invaluable support of Aurelie Soulat, Sales Director for France, who joined the company in 2022 and has a long professional career in other tourism companies as well. Finally, Jorge Serrano, a veteran of the company and the Spanish and Portuguese markets, will continue as Sales Director for these two countries.
