Discovery+ will begin streaming all five episodes of the docuseries “Maritime Masters: Expedition Antarctica” today, June 30. The series, filmed aboard the Scenic Eclipse, premiered on Discovery Channel on May 13.

The five episodes document journeys to some of the most pristine and remote places on the planet. Key figures appear, including the captain of the Scenic Eclipse, Erwan Le Rouzic, the expedition's director of operations, Jason Flesher, and the vice president of hotel operations, chef Tom Goetter.
The series includes the Scenic Eclipse's journey to Antarctica from San Diego. Highlights include a cocoa mission in El Salvador, a visit to Deception Island, a penguin expedition on Danco Island, and much more.
Captain Le Rouzic said: “I was thrilled to be able to showcase the passion and commitment we put into The World’s First Discovery Yacht. It’s still very mysterious to many people how we operate an expedition yacht and the complexity of what happens on board at all times during the voyage.”
“For me, being part of a project like this was very humbling, and very exciting. No other expedition ship offers the diversity and depth of immersive experiences. We are pioneers with helicopters and submersibles, exploring with our curious guests in search of adventure,” said Expedition Flesher's Director of Operations.
Vice President of Hotel Operations, Chef Goetter, stated, “It’s fantastic to showcase the culinary side of the Scenic Eclipse. It’s not just an incredible Discovery Yacht on a global expedition, but we also take guests on a culinary journey to explore a diversity of cuisines. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to introduce my chefs to the world and showcase luxury cruising in a different light.”
