The christening ceremony for MSC Euribia will take place on June 8 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Scandinavian capital was chosen as the ship's launch location due to its rich maritime heritage and dedication to sustainability. MSC Euribia symbolizes a vision for a sustainable future and a deep respect for and commitment to protecting and preserving the marine environment.
MSC Euribia is “built for the future,” with an energy-efficient cruise ship design. It is the second ship in the MSC Cruises fleet powered by LNG, the cleanest and most efficient fuel currently available on a commercial scale. It will also feature cutting-edge environmental technologies, such as advanced onboard wastewater treatment systems, waste management, energy efficiency measures, and innovative underwater radiated noise management systems to reduce its potential impact on the marine environment.
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
To celebrate the addition of this new and innovative ship to its fleet, MSC Cruises will invite its passengers to the christening ceremony, bringing together local authorities, travel agents, international media, and several well-known figures, including Hollywood icon and Academy Award-winning actress Sophia Loren. The actress has a long-standing personal relationship with the cruise line and will serve as godmother of MSC Cruises' 19th ship.
Sarah Grünewald, the well-known Danish television presenter, actress, and model, will be the master of ceremonies. Throughout the event, guests will be able to enjoy the tradition of breaking a champagne bottle on the bow of the ship, a delightful gala dinner, as well as live entertainment and performances, including a special closing set by renowned French DJ and record producer Bob Sinclair.
Following the event, MSC Euribia will begin sailing in Northern Europe, with 7-night voyages from Kiel (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark) to the Norwegian Fjords. Additionally, this summer MSC Cruises is offering direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona to Hamburg, for embarkation in Kiel and Copenhagen.
