Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has introduced a new video booking system that allows customers to contact their reservations team via video call.

The new system allows people browsing cruises online to request a video call, offering face-to-face interaction with a member of the Fred. Olsen team.
The system, managed by Talkative, video call specialists, automatically assesses whether the customer is using a device with a camera, as well as the strength of their internet connection. A team member will call them if a video call is not possible.
It also allows the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines team to have a shared navigation experience, so that both the caller and the team member can see the same screen at the same time.
Clare Ward, Director of Product and Customer Service at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:
“At Fred. Olsen, our guests are at the heart of everything we do, and we are very proud to be able to offer this personalized service to our guests. The ability to share your screen will allow us to better answer any questions, as we will be able to see exactly what the guest is seeing.”
He added: “Our ship crews are famous for always having a smiling and welcoming face to greet our guests, and it will be great to be able to replicate that in our reservations teams as well.”.
Felix Winstone, CEO of Talkative, said: “We are delighted that Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has expanded its contact capabilities with Talkative’s real-time video chat.”.
Anyone browsing the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines website looking for cruise information will see a message offering a video call, provided an agent is available at that time.
