A-ROSA River Cruises ' new Destination Scouts have begun sharing their local knowledge and tips about key cities on the Rhine and Danube.
As part of A-ROSA's 2023 concept to make its European river cruises more immersive, the line has recruited knowledgeable local experts in key destinations and on selected routes to enable guests to quickly gain insights into experiences and maximize their time ashore beyond the tourist trail.

Destination Explorers advise the A-ROSA Excursion Expert on the latest destination news and city knowledge, so they can share it with guests.
Destination Explorers will provide information such as the best places to shop; the best restaurants; the best exhibitions to recommend; and any special local concerts that might be of interest to guests. They will also share their opinions on hidden gems.
Some examples are:
- Classics of the Danube – In Vienna, one of the destination explorers is Elisabeth Weigand, who has more than 30 years of experience in the knowledge of Vienna.
- Romance on the Rhine and the Moselle – In Mainz, Paul, Simon and Bjorn from MAINZGUIDE will come aboard – they know the city incredibly well, especially its wine taverns!

- Discovering the Rhine Amsterdam and Rotterdam – One of the destination's explorers is Dutchman Harry Struylaard, who will ensure that guests are fully immersed in the city.
Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA River Cruises, said: “Sharing our Destination Scouts expertise with our customers means they can delve even deeper into the cities they visit. The Rhine and Danube boast cities brimming with unique culture, art, and history. We are delighted to be working with a number of knowledgeable locals who will share valuable insights about their hometowns, as well as tips on local activities, culinary delights, and much more.”.
