Teófila Martínez, president of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz, and Rafael Sánchez Durán, general manager of Endesa in Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla, signed yesterday, April 1st, a collaboration protocol for the planning of a set of measures to facilitate the energy transition of the port environment before 2030.
They were accompanied by the Minister of Industrial Policy and Energy, Jorge Paradela, the territorial delegate of Industrial Policy and Energy, Inmaculada Olivero, and the delegate of the Government of the Junta in Cádiz, Mercedes Colombo.
This agreement follows the approval by the Board of Directors of the Bay of Cadiz Port Authority of the concession to Endesa X, Endesa's energy services subsidiary, for the construction and operation of an OPS (On-shore Power Supply) facility that will provide electricity to cruise ships docking at the Alfonso XIII Wharf in the city, positioning the port as a national pioneer in these energy services.
