AmaWaterways presents details of two newly designed ships and itineraries debuting in 2024. As demand for cultural experiences continues to grow, AmaWaterways opens bookings for its program in the heart of Colombia, aboard the specially designed AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia.
“We are thrilled to have two ships joining our fleet of 26 river cruise ships and to share details about the new itineraries that sail along the Magdalena River,” said Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and president of AmaWaterways.
“The design of our two ships and the immersive itineraries reflect our mission to provide our guests with first-class accommodations, warm service, locally inspired cuisine, and enriching experiences with the local communities along this river,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways.
Introducing two new ships – AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia
The AmaMagdalena will be launched on March 30, 2024, and AmaMelodia, which will begin sailing on June 19, 2024.
Both ships offer river cruise experiences with luxurious cabins and panoramic views. Each cabin features twin balconies. Guests can also relax and unwind in the pools on the ship's upper deck, enjoy a massage, or work out in the well-equipped gym.
AmaMagdalena accommodates 60 guests, while its sister ship, the AmaMelodia, accommodates 64 guests.
Two immersive itineraries: Magic of Colombia and Wonders of Colombia
Starting in spring 2024, guests can choose between two seven-night itineraries, Magic of Colombia and Wonders of Colombia, sailing between Cartagena and Barranquilla or vice versa. Highlights of these two itineraries include experiencing Carnival in Barranquilla, birdwatching tours, and exploring the city of Palenque, among other activities.
Other destinations to explore with the Pre and Post Cruise Land Packages – Medellín, Cartagena and Panama City
In Colombia, travelers have the opportunity to extend their trip, before the AmaWaterways cruise, in Medellín and Cartagena with a three-night stay and the post-cruise land package in Panama City.
