Explora Journeys has unveiled the design of the Ocean Residences and Ocean Penthouses that will be available on board EXPLORA I.
Explora Journeys' owners have carefully selected the design of their suites, penthouses, and residences to create the most magnificent homes by the sea on the market. The elegant design also reflects the brand's distinctive European style.
Every element aboard EXPLORA I has been specially designed to stimulate the senses and reflect the brand's philosophy of creating an "Ocean State of Mind." This is achieved through a meticulous study of elements such as natural light, color, space, privacy, and the connection with the sea. The Explora Journeys design team has also worked painstakingly to ensure that each guest enjoys a unique experience and exclusive yet welcoming accommodations while on their cruise.
Jason Gelineau, Head of Product at Explora Journeys, stated: “Respect for the environment and sustainability also played a significant role in the design decisions. Furthermore, eco-friendly details have been incorporated into the suites' furnishings.”
Ocean Penthouses range from 43 to 68 m², while Ocean Residences range from 70 to 149 m², making them the largest in the sector.
The Ocean Penthouses at EXPLORA I are spacious and luxurious retreats with floor-to-ceiling windows, ocean views, and expansive terraces perfect for unwinding and relaxing. Each of the four penthouse types features an exclusive private dining area for four and a generous living space. These spaces provide a welcoming environment for guests to fully enjoy their suite, as well as a tranquil and comfortable place to relax and unwind.
All suites include a dressing room with a vanity area, a Dyson Supersonic™, heated marble floors in the bathrooms, personal binoculars, a wireless charging pad at the bedside, a personal minibar restocked according to guest preferences, an espresso machine with biodegradable capsules, a kettle and teapot, as well as a complimentary refillable personal water bottle for each guest. Room service is available 24 hours a day to fulfill any request.
Meanwhile, the spacious Ocean Residences offer elegant yet uncluttered accommodations, featuring separate living, dining, and sleeping areas. Ocean Residences boast a panoramic terrace with ocean views, a private outdoor hot tub, a dining table, and sun loungers. The materials used reflect the high level of care, attention, and precision applied to the design, such as the Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble used in the bathrooms of Cocoon, Serenity, and Retreat Residences. Cruise passengers can choose from four different types of residences within this category. Their names—Cocoon, Cove, Retreat, and Serenity—reflect the calming effects of the sea and the feeling these "Homes at Sea" evoke. The Cocoon and Serenity residences are surrounded by terraces, and these, along with the Retreat residence, feature a freestanding bathtub and a walk-in shower.
All Ocean Residences are staffed by a team of Residence Hosts who provide personal butler services 24 hours a day.
Explora Journeys' goal has been to combine Swiss precision with the finest European craftsmanship, along with conscious and respectful design. To achieve this, they have collaborated with luxury brands such as Molteni&C, Manutti, Frette, Astep, and Technogym.
With the aim of creating an even more welcoming and captivating environment for cruisers, Explora Journeys has incorporated an artistic element into its interior design project. The brand owners have personally selected works by prominent artists to display on board. Each suite will feature a centerpiece in the living room, along with complementary pieces and other carefully chosen decorative elements.
Finally, in addition to the exquisite selection of drinks on board, guests will be welcomed in their "Home at Sea" with a chilled bottle of champagne: Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label in the Ocean Suites, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 in the Ocean Penthouses and Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 in the Ocean Residences.
