Silversea Cruises was awarded Best Luxury Cruise Line at the Excellence Cruise Awards, held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the sixteenth time. This award is especially significant as it is the eleventh the company has received since 2009, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in customer service.
The winners were chosen based on a large-scale survey of domestic cruise passengers conducted through Cruises News, which lends special weight to the results, as the winners are determined by the opinions of the travelers themselves. The presence of over 200 cruise industry professionals at the awards ceremony made the event a valuable opportunity for networking and learning about the latest trends and developments in the cruise industry.
The award for Best Luxury Cruise Line in the Spanish market is especially significant for Silversea, as it was awarded by consumers and distribution partners. Thomas Harrison, Silversea's Sales Director for Europe, and Giorgio Costa, Silversea's Sales Development Manager for South & East Europe, accepted the award from Pilar Parra, Corporate and Communications Director of Puertos del Estado (State Ports Authority).
Thomas, on behalf of Silversea CEO Barbara Muckermann, thanked the cruise passengers who participated in the survey, as well as Cruises News and Virginia López, director of Cruises News, for their contribution and support to the cruise industry. He also emphasized that part of this award is due to Silversea's shore and onboard staff, who are the true recipients of this accolade. In his acceptance speech, he added, “This award is a testament to the services and experiences that Silversea employees provide every day, whether onboard any of our 12 ships or on land. We also thank our shareholders at Travel Trade for their valuable support in promoting Silversea to their customers. Spain is an important market for the cruise industry and, indeed, for Silversea.”.
