Explora Journeys will offer guests on EXPLORA I the opportunity to experience extraordinary immersive adventures on land, either before or after their cruise. These experiences will begin with two five-day itineraries in September 2023.

Guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities, from helicopter adventures to whitewater rafting, meeting a wild food hunter, or attending iconic cultural festivals.

Michael Ungerer, CEO of Explora Journeys, explained: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Pelorus to help us take luxury adventures and the appetite for discovery to the next level. The originality of the tailor-made itineraries created for Explora Journeys is destined to exceed expectations.”

“We are very pleased to be collaborating with Explora Journeys to offer first-class experiences together. We have planned some truly unique adventures,” said Geordie Mackay-Lewis, co-founder and CEO of Pelorus.

“Explora Journeys and Pelorus share the same brand promise: achieving a positive and sustainable impact on the world is paramount, as is creating enriching life experiences,” added Sacha Rougier, Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experience at Explora Journeys.

In the coming years, Pelorus and Explora Journeys will also offer travelers the opportunity to disembark and enjoy Pelorus experiences in Alaska, British Columbia, Costa Rica, and Japan, among other destinations.

Sustainability measures for the present and future are at the forefront of Explora Journeys' brand approach. To this end, Explora Journeys is partnering with like-minded partners and suppliers, such as Pelorus, which captures and offsets carbon emissions through the Pelorus Foundation Climate Investment Fund, collaborating with sustainability partners worldwide.

The six ships in the Explora Journeys fleet will be equipped with the latest environmental and marine technologies. They will also have connectivity to the shore power grid to reduce emissions in port, and underwater noise management systems to help protect marine life.

They can also join a local wild food hunt to find organic ingredients for cocktails and garnishes that the hotel chef will incorporate into a dinner, or go seal watching in secluded lagoons and hike to incredible peaks with mountain guides.

Destination Experience in Iceland, September 9-13: From majestic volcanoes to roaring waterfalls and crystal-clear glacial lakes, travelers will hike, cycle, and soar through this breathtaking landscape. They will have the opportunity to take a helicopter flight to Deplar Farm, located on the northern "Troll Peninsula," which offers the chance to embark on an Icelandic horseback riding experience in the remote countryside, reconnect with nature by bicycle, or enjoy wellness treatments and outdoor yoga sessions.
