The newly refurbished Diamond Princess has already welcomed guests aboard for its maiden voyage from its new home port of San Diego, helping to boost tourism in the area and support local businesses.
“The Diamond Princess’s homeport in a destination like San Diego and the fact that we can offer our West Coast fans four departure points is an exceptional combination,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises.
From November 2022 through February 2023, Diamond Princess offers a variety of cruise itineraries ranging from five to 16 days, calling at ports along the Mexican Riviera, the California coast, and the Hawaiian Islands. In addition, the ship offers a unique 20-day round-trip cruise to Central America departing from San Diego on November 27.
“The Port of San Diego is proud to welcome the Diamond Princess to the Port of San Diego as its homeport, and we look forward to a successful cruise season with them,” said Chairman Dan Malcolm of the San Diego Port of Commissioners Board.
