Carnival Cruise Line took delivery of the Carnival Celebration, the newest ship in the Excel-class fleet and sister ship to the Mardi Gras, at a signing ceremony at Meyer Turku in Turku, Finland. Carnival President Christine Duffy and Carnival Senior Vice President of New Builds Ben Clement joined Meyer Turku Managing Director Tim Meyer to welcome the Carnival Celebration to the fleet.
“We have so much to celebrate now that Carnival Celebration has joined as the 24th ship in our fleet. Now, even more guests will be able to experience everything our groundbreaking Excel Class has brought to cruising,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “It represents the culmination of our 50th anniversary, while also illuminating our bright future with many more thrills to come.”.
The second ship in Carnival's innovative Excel class, the Carnival Celebration offers a three-deck-high atrium to dozens of dining and beverage concepts spread across six themed zones - including the Miami-inspired 820 Biscayne and a tribute to all things travel at The Gateway - plus the BOLT roller coaster.

The Carnival Celebration will arrive at its home port of PortMiami on November 20 after a 14-day transatlantic cruise from Southampton, England. A christening ceremony that evening promises to be a tribute to Carnival's history. The Carnival Celebration will accommodate more than 5,200 guests and will operate year-round Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. The week-long voyages will visit destinations such as San Juan, Puerto Rico; Cozumel, Mexico; and Grand Turk.
The Carnival Celebration, which will debut at PortMiami's redesigned Terminal F, will join its sister ship Mardi Gras as the second Carnival ship in the fleet with a liquefied natural gas (LNG) propulsion system.
