When Princess Cruises' newest, largest and most innovative ship, the Sun Princess, debuts in February 2024, guests will set sail on an 11-day inaugural voyage through the Greater Mediterranean with departure options from Barcelona, Rome and Athens.

The maiden voyage of the 175,500-ton ship begins on February 8. Additional Mediterranean sailings will go on sale on November 9, 2022, for travel through September 2024. The full European season aboard the new Sun Princess includes 11-day itineraries visiting popular stops throughout the Western and Eastern Mediterranean and the popular series of 8-day voyages departing from Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia), or Athens, which can be combined for 15- or 22-day cruises.
“When you dream of the Mediterranean, you immediately think of sunshine, endless views of blue water, colorful and distinctive architecture, incredible cuisine, engaging locals, and romantic settings,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. “It’s a perfect match to have our new Sun Princess debut in this region because so much of our design inspiration for this ship comes directly from these iconic destinations.”.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the Princess ship features a newly designed and iconic Piazza and The Dome, a state-of-the-art entertainment space inspired by the terraces of Santorini. Sun Princess also stays true to the smooth, clean lines and design aesthetic of the cruise line's famous Seawitch icon, popularized in the original television series "The Love Boat.".
Sun Princess will also feature the exclusive Princess Medallion, offering guests a personalized service previously only found on the industry's smaller ships.
As part of Carnival Corporation's green cruising focus, Sun Princess will be the first Princess ship and one of 11 new vessels in the corporate fleet powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the world's cleanest fossil fuel.
