Although the launch date of the Evrima cruise ship has been delayed 8 times, the Evrima's inaugural voyage begins, taking its first guests from Barcelona to Nice on a seven-night cruise that departed on October 15th.
The new Evrima cruise ship, with a capacity for 298 passengers, brings to the sea the comfort and service of a Ritz-Carlton hotel with a modern and elegant design, high-quality materials, plenty of relaxation space, personalized service and a restaurant with menus designed by a three-Michelin-starred chef.
The prestigious Swedish maritime architecture and design firm Tillberg worked with a team from the hotel company to create a floating Ritz-Carlton hotel. “It’s about bringing the Ritz-Carlton’s modern, informal luxury to the sea,” says Prothero.
“Ritz-Carlton guests are demonstrating, in terms of bookings, that they are willing to come with us.” “Most of the bookings,” adds Chris Gabaldon, senior vice president of luxury brands at Marriott International Inc., “are from people who have never been on a cruise before.”
The innovative, two-story loft suites, with the bedroom on the ground floor and a bright living room upstairs, are among the accommodation options. Resort-like amenities are also offered, including a supervised Ritz Kids program with its own playroom and a Ritz-Carlton-managed spa with indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, as well as indulgences such as a $395 non-surgical facial.
Guests can enjoy ocean views while sipping champagne on the infinity pool loungers or get even closer to the water's edge on the marina terrace, where handcrafted cocktails and light bites are served when the ship is docked. Paddleboards, windsurfing equipment, kayaks, sailboats, and snorkeling gear are available for rent at the marina. Four pools offer more intimate opportunities for a refreshing dip with a view.
The yacht's main restaurant offers a five-course tasting menu with wine and champagne pairings, created by Chef Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant. At Talaat Nam, guests can dine indoors or al fresco, enjoying Southeast Asian cuisine, or head to the sushi bar. Room service is available 24 hours a day.
The ship's indoor and outdoor observation deck on deck 10 is a social hub, a place to enjoy the views during the day and to have cocktails and enjoy live entertainment at night.
In its first year, the Evrima is sailing the Mediterranean and the Caribbean on 7- to 10-night itineraries, visiting destinations such as Ibiza, Saint-Tropez, Bequia, and Saint Barthélemy. Two other 456-passenger yachts, ordered from Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France by the same cruise company, are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025.
