As COVID-19 restrictions ease around the world, Royal Caribbean International has announced new protocols to more closely align with the rest of the tourism industry. Starting September 5, the cruise line will welcome all passengers, vaccinated and unvaccinated, to sail.
The new guidelines are:
- Unvaccinated travelers will be allowed to sail by showing a negative PCR or antigen test result. Unsupervised self-assessment tests are also accepted.
- No testing will be required for vaccinated travelers taking cruises of 9 nights or less.
- On any itinerary, travelers aged 5 and under have no requirements for vaccines or prior tests.
- On cruises longer than 10 days, all travelers, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must present a negative test result taken no more than three days before departure.
Due to local regulations, passengers on cruises departing from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, or Singapore are still required to be vaccinated, and current testing requirements remain in effect.
The cruise line continues to maintain health and safety measures that exceed those of other types of vacations. These measures include constant monitoring and vaccination of all crew members, including booster doses if necessary, as well as enhanced care and testing capabilities at every onboard medical center, among others.
