Explora Journeys has unveiled the new concept designed for Explora I, “Homes at Sea”, luxurious, peaceful and spacious cabins ranging from 35 square meters in the Ocean Terrace category to 280 square meters in the Owners Residence.
Explora Journeys is the fruit of the long-term vision of its founders, the Aponte Vago family. Drawing on a family nautical tradition of over 300 years, combined with their conception of luxury, the family has carefully designed the suites, penthouses, and residences to create a luxurious home at sea. Each of the 461 suites, penthouses, and ocean-view residences features its own spacious private terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize natural light, a neutral color palette, and a layout designed to fully appreciate the marine environment.
The first ship in the fleet will seamlessly blend elegant Swiss precision with modern European craftsmanship and a vibrant design. The design of each suite was developed in collaboration with the Italian studio De Jorio Luxury & Yachts Projects. For the interior design, the London-based architecture and interior design studio NenMar has brought a thoughtful and innovative approach.
All suites have been designed with simplicity and comfort in mind, offering unparalleled space and privacy so guests feel right at home, by the sea. The Ocean Terrace Suites and Ocean Grand Terrace Suites feature their own private terrace, ranging from 7 to 11 square meters, further enhancing the living space.
The suites are designed as a luxurious home on board, and all include a dressing room with a vanity area, a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, heated bathroom floors, personal binoculars, a wireless charging pad by the bed, a personal minibar that is restocked according to guest preferences, an espresso machine with biodegradable capsules, a kettle and teapot, as well as a complimentary refillable personal water bottle for each guest. Room service, available 24 hours a day, is on hand to fulfill any wish or request.

The suites feature some of the finest Italian and European designer furniture, provided by firms such as Molteni&C. The lighting in the suites has been designed to create an intimate atmosphere.
The choice of materials reflects a commitment to luxury, while Explora Journeys' dedication to sustainability is demonstrated by the priority given to responsible sourcing of materials and eco-friendly details, such as refillable toiletries and the absence of single-use plastic items on board.
Tickets for EXPLORA I's inaugural voyage collection will be available for purchase starting in May 2023. During its first year, the ship will visit 132 ports in 40 countries, including two destinations rarely visited by cruise ships: Kastellorizo (Greece) and Saint Pierre (Martinique). Itineraries include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, the US East Coast, the Caribbean, South America, and Hawaii. Sailings range from six nights to an unforgettable 44-night Grand Cruise through Northern Europe.
