The luxury polar cruise ship Scenic Eclipse II has entered the water for the first time at the Croatian shipyard 3. Maj Brodogradiliste.
The ship's construction is being managed by MKM Yachts, a division of the Scenic Group, according to a press release. The vessel, the Scenic Eclipse II, is the shipyard's first new launch after a four-year hiatus, the ministry said in a press release.
The Scenic Eclipse II ship, sister ship of the Scenic Eclipse, measures 186 meters in length and 21.5 meters in width and has the capacity to accommodate 237 passengers and a crew of 200 people.
The Scenic Eclipse II is scheduled to join the fleet in April 2023, with its maiden voyage sailing from Lisbon to Barcelona.
The Scenic Eclipse II will feature a newly designed outdoor pool and Panorama Bar on its upper deck and will be equipped with a next-generation, custom-built submarine, the Scenic Neptune II, which can dive to a depth of 200 meters.
