The Disney Wish, the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, was christened during an unforgettable celebration filled with spectacular musical performances, special guests and characters from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar stories.
With a stunning gathering of princesses, heroes, Jedi, and friends on stage, three Make-A-Wish children were chosen to represent all the children and serve as godparents. Three ambassadors—Colby, 10; Megan, 16; and Jenna, 12—represented all the godchildren on the Disney Wish and recited the traditional ship blessing, which symbolically bestows good luck upon the vessel and its passengers.
Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose, the Disney legend best known for voicing Tiana in "The Princess and the Frog," performed a rendition of the Disney Parks ballad "Wishes," evoking the spirit of optimism and wonder woven into the fabric of Disney's enchanting new cruise ship. The event culminated in the ceremonial breaking of a champagne bottle, Disney-style, complete with a sprinkle of pixie dust and a symphony of pyrotechnics, special effects, and music.

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship is steeped in more stories than ever before and filled with unique entertainment and groundbreaking firsts from bow to stern. These include Disney’s first-ever attraction at sea, family-friendly dining adventures themed around Frozen and Marvel, an immersive journey through the Star Wars galaxy, interactive virtual quests that reveal the magic around every corner, original Broadway-style stage productions, signature fireworks at sea, imaginative kids’ clubs for all ages, and an expanded collection of exclusive adult experiences.

The Disney Wish sets sail on its inaugural voyage on July 14, followed by three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral, Florida.
