Explora Journeys today announced a new destination for its EXPLORA I Inaugural Voyage Collection: Alaska. The luxury cruise brand unveiled three exciting new voyages departing from Vancouver, Canada, that will offer guests an exceptional opportunity to explore Alaska’s most exuberant wilderness from a unique perspective. With these voyages, the brand takes another step toward its goal of taking guests to off-the-beaten-path destinations where they can enjoy unique experiences in a sustainable way.
The inaugural Alaskan voyage— to remote Wrangell and spectacular Sitka— will depart from Vancouver on May 6, 2024. During the eleven nights on board, the ship will travel the coastal Inside Passage route and visit Wrangell, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, Misty Fjord, and Victoria before returning to Vancouver on May 17, 2024.
Glacier enthusiasts can choose between Sailing the Whale's Highway—an eleven-night cruise that docks at Icy Strait Point to visit the town of Hoonah and the Hubbard Glacier—or Journey of the Glaciers, a ten-night voyage along the coastline sculpted by enormous rivers of ice, passing through cobalt-blue bays dotted with islands. The Mendenhall Glacier and the Misty and Tracy Arm fjords, ephemeral monuments created by nature's most inhospitable forces, will leave an indelible mark on passengers' memories. Travelers will have the opportunity to connect with the local culture and admire landscapes unlike any other in the world.
