The Evrima, from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is celebrating the success of its sea trials conducted near Santander this week. Considered one of the final stages of shipbuilding, sea trials are a series of systems tests carried out while the yacht is sailing in open water.
These sea trials have been led by Captain Steven MacBeath, who will command the Evrima, in collaboration with a team of senior officers, engineers, contractors and shipyard personnel.
Originally scheduled for launch in February 2020, and after several construction delays, the Evrima will enter service this summer. Following its delivery, the company will expand rapidly with the addition of two much larger ships, debuting in 2024 and 2025 respectively, each with a capacity of 456 guests.
The Evrima is expected to combine the ultra-luxury lifestyle of The Ritz-Carlton with the carefree freedom of a yacht. It will feature spacious suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, five restaurants, including SEA, a premium restaurant created by Sven Elverfeld of Aqua at The Ritz-Carlton in Wolfsburg, Germany. It will also offer its guests water sports and a spa.
