The Norwegian Escape, the first Breakaway-Plus class ship from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, is returning to Europe. The Norwegian Escape is NCL's largest ship in Europe and the first Breakaway-Plus class ship to sail in European waters for a full season. Homeported in Civitavecchia, Rome, the ship offers sailings of seven to eleven nights. Each voyage features unforgettable multi-country itineraries, such as the August 13th sailing, where guests can explore ports in Italy, Greece, Malta, and France—four sun-drenched Mediterranean countries.

The Norwegian Escape's itineraries include stops at the region's most sought-after ports, such as Santorini, Mykonos, Naples, and Livorno, as well as hidden gems like Valletta and Messina. Docking at five or eight ports for up to 13 hours, with no more than two days at sea (without stopping in port), guests can spend their days exploring ancient ruins and medieval architecture, admiring artistic masterpieces, or simply savoring a variety of local cuisine.
The Norwegian Escape will also debut its popular 'Meet the Winemaker' program in Europe while sailing through the Greek Islands and Italy. On July 17, the ship will feature Certified Angus Beef and renowned winemaker Antonio Hidalgo, from the Spanish family-owned Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana. The October 17 edition will be hosted by world-renowned Sandro Bottega of Bottega SpA.
With the arrival of the Norwegian Escape, NCL now has a total of eight ships sailing European waters this summer season. The NCL fleet will call at more European ports than any other modern cruise line, giving guests more choice than ever before. The Norwegian Prima, the newest ship in the NCL fleet and the first of the innovative Prima Class, will also debut this summer. NCL’s eight ships for the 2022 summer European cruise season are the Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Dawn, and the Norwegian Prima. NCL offers travelers a wide range of itineraries this summer, from exploring the ancient ruins of the Greek islands and sailing through the Norwegian fjords to soaking up the Mediterranean sun.
“Europe has always been a must-visit destination on the bucket lists of travelers worldwide and is a key destination for NCL. We strive to offer both new and returning guests a wide range of destinations and itineraries. We are thrilled that this year’s European season is our most extensive to date, with eight ships and more than 100 ports of call,” said Kevin Bubolz, Managing Director Europe, Norwegian Cruise Line. “Our ‘Guest First’ philosophy requires us to put our guests at the heart of every decision and proposal we make, which is why we continue to innovate our product offerings, as we have done for the past 55 years.”
