AmaWaterways is incorporating European wine experts into a special series within its Celebration of Wine river cruises. With more than 60 Celebration of Wine river cruises across Europe scheduled for 2022, AmaWaterways has selected four special sailings designated as European Wine Immersion Sailings. On these sailings, renowned European wine experts will guide guests through celebrated wine regions while sharing their in-depth knowledge of local wines, rich traditions, and the history of European winemaking.

The new European wine immersion cruises offer enhanced epicurean experiences, such as onshore tastings or visits to seasonal wine festivals in local cities, and are led by Europe's wine experts. Equipped with extensive knowledge and a passion for regional wines, the European hosts hand-select wines that represent the culture, history, and winemaking techniques of specific regions for guests to enjoy with special meals, tastings, or seminars—all included in the cruise price.
On these seven-night voyages, guests experience an extraordinary combination of culinary and wine adventures, with the opportunity to sample wines from leading wineries along the river cruise itinerary. Onboard, guests will enjoy exquisite dinners paired with locally sourced wines that highlight regionally inspired delicacies.
AmaWaterways initially launched its Celebration of Wine river cruises in 2010 to share its appreciation for wine and offer guests—from connoisseurs to novice consumers—the opportunity to taste, learn more about, and compare New World and Old World varietals. With the new European Wine Immersion Cruises, guests will enjoy a cruise along the rivers where the first vines were planted, while learning about regional cultivation methods and the historical figures behind European winemaking. The cruise also includes visits to historic wineries, vineyards, or European castles, as well as interactive tastings led by onboard experts and discussions focused on regional wines.
