Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it will begin its journey sailing into the world of the Metaverse with the launch of the cruise industry's first NFT (Non-Fungible Token) collection, adding to the brand's pioneering and innovative legacy.
NCL will auction and sell a collection of six NFTs to celebrate the launch of the company's cutting-edge Prima Class on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 3 p.m. CET. The artwork was created by Manuel Di Rita (Peeta), the Italian artist who illustrated the hulls of the Norwegian Prima and its sister ship, the Norwegian Viva.
The first of the six artworks will be auctioned with a starting bid of $2,500, and the remaining NFTs will be sold starting at $250. The auction winner will also receive a balcony stateroom on one of the Norwegian Prima's inaugural voyages to the United States, departing from NCL's new PortMiami terminal.

The first piece in the NFT collection bears a striking resemblance to the Norwegian Prima's stunning hull design, offering its buyer a unique opportunity to take home a piece of this spectacular ship. The five additional NFT pieces showcase some of the innovative 3D designs that will be featured onboard the Norwegian Prima.

The Norwegian Prima's maiden voyage, taking place in August 2022, will depart from Reykjavik, Iceland, and will feature a performance by its newly announced godmother, global pop superstar Katy Perry. The Norwegian Prima will offer inaugural Northern European cruises from Southampton, England; Amsterdam; and Reykjavik, Iceland; Bermuda sailings from New York City beginning October 6; and Caribbean itineraries from Galveston, Texas, and Miami beginning October 27.
