Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the return to the sea of the Norwegian Jewel, which will be the company's first ship to sail from Panama City. The fully refurbished Norwegian Jewel becomes the thirteenth ship in the company's 17-ship fleet to return to the sea, offering immersive Alaskan itineraries from May through September before becoming its homeport in Panama City on November 24, 2022. The November sailings will mark the first time the company has based its cruises at both of the destination's ports: the Colón Cruise Terminal and the Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal in Panama City.

Guests aboard the Norwegian Jewel can enjoy numerous amenities, including action-packed activities at the outdoor sports complex. With a capacity of 2,376 passengers, it offers spacious suites and staterooms to suit every taste and budget. The ship also features a Haven Deluxe Owner's Suite, boasting the most luxurious and well-appointed accommodations on board, including 24-hour butler service.
The Norwegian Jewel's maiden voyage is a 12-day journey along the South American coast, visiting nine ports and departing from the historic city of Panama City.
“The Norwegian Jewel’s maiden voyage is a sign of a bright future, as in November we will have a seasonal homeport in the incredible city of Panama,” notes Harry Sommer, President and Chief Executive Officer of NCL
The redeployment of the entire fleet will continue in partnership with local governments and will be guided by the company's robust health and safety program protocols. In collaboration with leading experts from the Sail Safe Global Health and Wellness Council, the protocols will be reviewed and adjusted regularly as needed.
