MSC Cruises has announced that the MSC Grandiosa will now be fully dedicated to the Norwegian fjords for the entire 2022 summer season, becoming one of MSC Cruises' most modern and environmentally advanced ships, offering seven-night itineraries in one of the most stunning regions of Northern Europe.
MSC Grandiosa will sail seven-night itineraries from Kiel, Germany, with a stop in Copenhagen. The ship will then head north to Norway, stopping in Hellesylt while experiencing the splendor of Sunnylvsfjord, and sailing through Aurlandsfjord on its way to the scenic port city of Ålesund and the village of Flåm. Spanish passengers can book this itinerary with flights and transfers included from Madrid and Barcelona.
Due to the suspension of calls in St. Petersburg, MSC Grandiosa will now be dedicated to the Fjords region, while MSC Poesia and MSC Preziosa will continue to call in the Baltic Sea, but replacing St. Petersburg with other popular destinations in the region such as Stockholm, Tallinn, and Visby. MSC Cruises is communicating the updated itineraries for its three ships to travel agents and passengers affected by these changes.
Passengers who originally booked one of MSC Grandiosa's previous Baltic Sea itineraries and still wish to experience a cruise in this region can opt for departures on one of the 2022 summer itineraries aboard MSC Poesia or MSC Preziosa:
- MSC Poesia will sail from Warnemünde, Germany with 7 and 11 night itineraries and stops in destinations such as Riga, Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, Copenhagen, Kristiansand and Oslo, among others.
- MSC Preziosa will sail from Kiel, Germany with itineraries of 7 to 12 nights and stops in destinations including Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, Bergen, Kristiansand and Stavanger, among others.
- MSC Magnifica: 10-14 night itineraries from Hamburg, Germany, with stops in destinations such as Kristiansand, Narvik, Longyearbyen, Honningsvag, Nordfjordeid, Molde Fjord, Maloy, among others, from April 27 to August 21.
- MSC Virtuosa: Departing from Southampton, UK, in addition to its southbound cruises, the ship will also offer a range of 7- and 12-night itineraries calling at destinations including Haugesund, Flaam, Olden, Maloy, Nordfjordeid, and Molde Fjord, among others, from May 13 to September 3. Furthermore, also departing from Southampton, UK, MSC Virtuosa will offer three longer 12- and 14-night cruises to destinations including Oslo, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Helsinki, Visby, and Skagen on June 11, July 16, and September 24.
In addition to environmental innovations, the MSC Grandiosa also features advanced selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and state-of-the-art wastewater treatment (AWT) systems that further reduce the ship's environmental impact. Furthermore, its 19 decks offer passengers a variety of restaurants, entertainment, relaxing bars and lounges, boutiques, a spa and fitness center, a water park, and clubs for young children and teenagers.
