Carnival Cruise Line announces the use of the VeriFLY solution for its operations at U.S. homeports, with a pilot program beginning this Saturday for passengers embarking on Mardi Gras at Port Canaveral. Carnival is also finalizing plans to expand in-terminal testing for vaccinated guests before embarkation on short 3- and 4-day cruise itineraries. Carnival will also continue operating under its current protocols, sailing vaccinated voyages, requiring pre-embarkation testing, and maintaining the indoor mask requirement onboard until further notice.
VeriFLY by Daon will allow Carnival customers to upload their vaccination certificate and test results for verification before departure, resulting in a more streamlined boarding experience at the terminal. Once the pilot program at Port Canaveral is complete, Carnival intends to quickly roll out the solution across its entire fleet.
Carnival is also working to expand testing capacity at the terminal for vaccinated guests, specifically for short itineraries (3- and 4-day cruises). Once implemented, vaccinated guests will be able to fulfill the pre-cruise testing requirement as part of the embarkation process.
Carnival also intends to continue its Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols until further notice. Customers and travel agents will receive more details about operations for February and beyond in the coming days.
