The MSC Meraviglia today became the latest MSC Cruises ship to welcome passengers back, departing from PortMiami, Florida. This is a key milestone in the company's global plan to have more than half of its fleet back at sea by the end of this summer. This milestone follows MSC Cruises' initial resumption of sailings in the Mediterranean in August 2020 and the return of more ships in recent months across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, the UK, the Red Sea, and now the Caribbean, outside of US ports.
Since last summer, many tens of thousands of passengers have once again enjoyed a cruise at sea on an MSC Cruises ship, under the protection of the brand's industry-leading health and hygiene protocol, which is now also available for cruises outside of US ports.
MSC Meraviglia is currently on its inaugural 4-night cruise, visiting Nassau, Bahamas, and the MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, where the ship will be berthed overnight, allowing travelers an extended stay to discover the company's newest private destination. Named Best New Cruise Destination, it offers passengers over three kilometers of white-sand beaches within a 165-square-kilometer marine reserve, respecting the environment.
MSC Meraviglia will offer 3 and 4 night cruises starting today and will add 7 night cruises in the Eastern and Western Caribbean starting September 18, 2021.
MSC Divina will become the second MSC Cruises ship to resume cruises from the United States, with 3, 4 and 7 night itineraries starting September 16 from Orlando (Port Canaveral), a new homeport for the company.
Delivered last week as the largest cruise ship ever built in Italy, MSC Seashore - the new flagship of MSC Cruises - will arrive at its new home port in Miami on November 18, 2021, immediately following its inaugural season in the Mediterranean.
