On September 5th, Norwegian Cruise Line's most iconic ship, the Norwegian Epic, sets sail again from Barcelona to explore beautiful destinations in the Western Mediterranean, such as Rome, Florence, Cagliari, and Palma de Mallorca. To celebrate this milestone and whet your appetite, the cruise line reveals 10 fascinating facts about this truly remarkable ship. Who could possibly miss it?
- The ship's hull decoration was designed by NCL employees and took 160 hours to paint.
- It was the first ship in the world to feature a genuine ice bar, the SVEDKA Ice Bar. It uses approximately 6,000 liters of water for its bar, walls, tables, stools, decorations, and even the glasses! The temperature inside reaches -8 degrees Celsius.
- The Norwegian Epic offers one of the most spectacular water parks on board a ship. In fact, if its water slides were laid end to end, they would stretch for approximately 230 meters.
- Bring the spirit of Ibiza aboard. At the stern is the Spice H2O club,inspired by the island's famous disco style, which transforms into a vibrant nightlife scene. Here, passengers can enjoy drinks and dance to the music, always following the relevant safety protocols. This large dance floor is dominated by a massive 7.62-meter screen that delivers spectacular visual effects.
- The entertainment never stops, especially on the Norwegian Epic, which boasts several internationally acclaimed Broadway shows, such as the musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Passengers can also step back into 1960s Liverpool and sing along to many Beatles classics at The Cavern Club.
