While Holland America Line continues to work with the government and port authorities to develop its plans for returning to cruising, the company is extending the pause on European cruise operations, including departures, through June 30, 2021.
The pause will affect cruises departing in May and June on the Nieuw Statendam, Volendam, and Westerdam, along with the Collectors' Voyages associated with those canceled cruises. Collectors' Voyages combine non-repetitive itineraries for an extended, consecutive cruise experience.
The cruise ships affected by this pause in operations are the following:
– Nieuw Statendam: Eight departures from May 2 to June 27, 2021, including seven- and 14-day Norway and Baltic itineraries, as well as the 14- and 21-day Collectors' Voyages on those cruises.
– Volendam: June 19, 2021, 14-day Adriatic Dream cruise and the 24-day Collectors' Voyage Adriatic Dream and Greek Odyssey departing on the same date.
– Westerdam: June 19, 2021, 12-day Greece and Adriatic Antiquities cruise and the 24-day Adriatic Antiquities and Collectors' Voyage Mediterranean Romance cruise departing on the same date.
Holland America Line is notifying all customers and travel agents of the available options. Customers currently booked on the canceled European sailings can rebook on an equivalent cruise in 2022 at the 2021 fare – with all cash payments and Future Cruise Credit transferred to the new booking. Customers will be offered a comparable 2022 cruise to replace the canceled voyage and will be given instructions on how to confirm this selection online.
If guests choose not to accept a 2022 cruise booking by April 15, 2021, they will automatically receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) of 110% of the cash paid on the booking. The minimum FCC is $25, and the maximum is equal to the base cruise fare paid. Guests will retain any other FCC used for the canceled 2021 booking, and all FCC amounts will be transferred to their loyalty account for use on a future cruise booking. Standard cancellation policies apply to all 2022 bookings.
Customers who prefer a 100% refund of the money paid to Holland America Line can visit the cancellation preference form to indicate their preference before April 15, 2021.
The FCC is valid for cruises departing through December 31, 2022. Bookings for shore excursions, air tickets, gifts, dining, and spa services will be transferred to a new booking where possible or automatically refunded via the payment method used when purchasing the services.
The above options do not apply to customers who have booked a charter ship. Other booking and cancellation policies and conditions may apply if the cruise was not booked through Holland America Line. Please refer to the terms and conditions on the cancellation preference form for full details.
Holland America Line has paused cruise operations worldwide and canceled all sailings on all ships through April 30, 2021; Mediterranean cruises through early June; and all sailings to or from a Canadian port in 2021.
Holland America Line is closely following the protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other authorities, and is preparing ships and implementing procedures to meet all requirements for approval once a restart date is determined.
