Christopher Prelog has been appointed President of Windstar Cruises, reporting to Andrew N. Todd, CEO of Windstar Cruises and Xanterra Travel Collection. Prelog began his career in the cruise industry with Seabourn, working first as a waiter, then in onboard hotel operations, and finally as head of all ship operations before joining Windstar nearly four years ago.
Prelog has a long and distinguished career in the cruise and hospitality industries. He holds a degree in Hotel Management and Accounting from Florida International University in Miami, as well as certificates from Harvard Kennedy School, Cornell University, and the Higher Institute of Tourism in Austria.
“Chris is the perfect person for this role,” Todd stated. “As Windstar’s Chief Operating Officer, he led the $250 million Star Plus operation in expanding and refurbishing our three yachts, in addition to managing our operations during the pandemic. His deep knowledge and experience of the small-ship cruising business, combined with his leadership style, have earned the hearts and respect of the Windstar crew and the corporate team alike.”

Windstar operates a fleet of six small yachts with a capacity of 148 to 342 passengers on round-the-world voyages. The company has canceled all sailings through 2020 and plans to resume operations in January 2021, implementing the new “Beyond Ordinary Care” protocol, which includes hospital-level standards. Windstar offers itineraries in Tahiti, Alaska, Greece, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and other destinations.
